Lisa Gillespie

Director/Teacher

Growing up with four sisters, some of my best memories were making up dances in our basement dance room.  Nine years ago I built a home studio and started making up dances with my own daughters and nieces, and that's how the magic began. I have a passion for creativity and lifelong learning.
My formal education is in nursing and child development, but teaching and dance have always been my passion.  As an adult I got on Pointe and performed in Nutcracker and Cinderella with the  Academy of Ballet, it was inspiring to know anyone can get on Pointe at any age.  I created a performing arts preschool curriculum and loved my years teaching preschool.  Another moment of inspiration was when I had the opportunity to perform with Pure Expressions and dance for Time Out For Women.  Dance helps me express my most joyful feelings and I love seeing how it makes others happy.  I look forward to each dance class to create, rejoice, and dream with my students!

Mom of 4, Brooke loves everything about dance. Dancing and teaching are her greatest passions, right after her family.

Brooke began dancing at age 3. She trained in Royal Academy of Dance and the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing under Mrs. Rosemary DeHart at London Dance Academy in Las Vegas, NV. She was able to perform yearly with the Academy and took on multiple solos including Danny in Grease (Modern Dance).

After graduating, Brooke went to college and continued her dance education. In 2007, Brooke continued Royal Academy of Dance lessons at the School of Ballet Arts and joined the Utah Valley Civic Ballet Company. She performed with UVCBC for 4 years. She was able to participate in full length ballets including Swan Lake, Firebird, Peter Pan, Coppelia, etc.

Brooke was, also, accepted into the Utah Valley University Dance Program. She studied Modern Dance and was a member of the Synergy Dance Company.

Brooke began teaching in 1997. She has taught many levels and genres of dance, classical ballet being her specialty. Brooke is certified in Progressive Ballet Technique, has an Associates of Science in Dance, and is working towards becoming a certified teacher for both RAD and ISTD.
